Our goal at The Factory is to spread our idea of fitness. We believe that well-rounded athletes are the best athletes. We push our members to be good at EVERYTHING and to avoid being VERY good at only one thing.


The programs at The Factory are designed to help our members reach their highest potential in terms of endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy. The class-based format is intended to ignite friendly competition between members, as well as create personal goals to improve upon. Our daily workouts are always changing, preventing the feeling of monotony that often accompanies “working out.”

The “WOD” is our “Workout of the Day.” Each WOD has set parameters known as the prescription (RX). These are difficult numbers to reach and for good reason. These parameters give athletes something to shoot for, whether it is short term, or months down the road. In the meantime, each workout can be scaled/modified to each persons’ own ability. We urge our members to record each workout as they complete it, in order to keep track of their improvements the next time we do that particular WOD.


Coaches Corner

Aaron McNew
CrossFit Level I & II Certified

Before attending the University of Northern Iowa for Exercise Science, Aaron served more than 6 years in the Iowa Army National Guard as a squad leader and infantryman in the Scout/Sniper Section. While serving, Aaron received many awards and honors. Aaron is a CrossFit Level I & ll coach and holds many other strength and conditioning certifications in addition. Aaron does the programming for The Factory Strength and Conditioning and personal training, which includes remote coaching. Programming is done from an extensive background of education and personal/professional experience. Aaron has worked with multiple college teams at the University of Northern Iowa, countless Div. I individual athletes, and has directed multiple high school strength and conditioning programs.

George LaCava
USA Powerlifting Certified Club Coach

George has an Engineering degree from The Ohio State University, an MBA from the University of Iowa, and served for over 5 years in the Air Force as a tactical Communications Engineering Officer.  He has over 15 years of experience in programming for physical fitness and developing individualized training and eating plans.  He received his certification as a USA Powerlifting Club Coach in 2017 and specializes in those lifts.  He has been a Factory family member since 2015.

Kealey VanBenthuysen

Kealey is a student at Iowa State, studying Child, Adult and Family Services. She has two dogs, loves the outdoors and movies. Kealey loves helping others and is always open to help or talk to anyone! She will likely have a big bun in her hair, leggings on, and is always smiling. She has been at The Factory over a year and has been involved with CrossFit and OLY lifting for two years. She has an athletic background playing sports in high school and being active throughout college.

Bianca Irlbeck

Bianca is a student at Iowa State from Carroll, Iowa.  She attended DMACC in Boone for one year, where she obtained an associates degree, prior to moving on to Iowa State to pursue a degree in Biology. She first began her Olympic lifting career at the age of 17 years old, before moving into the CrossFit realm at age 19. Her background in lifting gives her a solid foundation, and she is willing to help with technique or questions anytime!

Our classes are billed at the beginning of each month.  If you join in the middle you will be prorated that amount which is left in the month.  Late fees are incurred after 7 days (1 week) of non payment.
